The Archos website lists a Car Headrest Mount as an available accessory for their Archos 705 PMP … which by-the-by is a sweet toy if you’re looking for a bigger screen than the 4.3″-screen on the 605 (the 705 has a 7″ screen … nice). When I followed the “Buy Now” link for the headrest mount it went to the headrest’s page but it clearly lists that it is “NOT compatible with ARCHOS 705″
What’s up? I’m contacting Archos customer service on this question. My wife and I have been talking about getting some DVD screens for our car but I’d be more interested in getting a 705 with a car mount so it would have the added web, music, pictures features over the basic DVD player.

Like other macaddicts out there in this mad, mad world I was drawn to the iPod Touch like a moth to the light. It’s beautiful, simple, and well … extremely cool.
But I’ve got to tell you, a friend of mine showed me his Archos (a 400 series at the time) a while back and it certainly peaked my interest. And the new Archos 605 is hot. Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve just heard of a new video product out there called Vudu. It’s a stylish box that, as an addition to your entertainment centre, allows you to download and watch (over a rental period). Apparently the files are kept small but I’m sure this toy would demand high speed internet access. All the major studios are lined up Read the rest of this entry »

Something about the Apple TV doesn’t make sense to me. Apple Inc are masters of design. Why, oh why then does it come with such a piddly, basic looking remote.
The product as a whole is impressive. The though of zipping through videos, music, pics, and dabbling in YouTube all wirelessly on a big widescreen tv is cool, but I lose my normal size universal remote quite easily. That little Apple remote is going to be gone in an hour. And heaven forbid my 8-month-old gets a hold of it … it won’t stand a chance. Read the rest of this entry »

I picked up a Motorola bluetooth headset today at Best Buy in Toronto. I’ve been eyeing them for a while now but hadn’t found a price that matched my desire for one (that being interested, but not feeling like I “had” to have one).
Anyways, Best Buy had one on for $24.99 so I figured now was as best as it’d be for a while.
Tried it out on the way home with my BlackBerry Pearl. Worked great. Now if someone would just call me

I don’t know what it is, but when I see stuff on TV about new electronic gadgetry, I’m drawn to it like moth to a lightbulb. The other day I was was watching the Today Show on NBC (actually it was Christmas Day …. I know, I know, watching TV on Christmas morning … probably something better to be doing) and they were going through these new electronics; Camera’s, phones, and the beautiful new iMac. I could have watched for hours. Do I need help? Are there others like me out there? Read the rest of this entry »

Well, today’s the day. I woke up this morning with the Leopard release announcement on my Blackberry Pearl. After much anticipation, Apple has released the newest edition of its powerful OSX operating system. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s been too long. The last Apple store I visited was the new one at Sherway Gardens in Toronto. It’s not like I have much in the line of money to spend but a guy can dream. With the Canadian dollar the way it is there are some nice deals to be had across the border in the US. Read the rest of this entry »

When, oh when do Canadians get to play with the new Apple iPhone.
We wait.
But hey, it’s bound to come here. It’s just a matter of time. And given that the iPhone uses the GSM system, Rogers will be the Canadian carrier. I’m a Rogers client right now with my BlackBerry Pearl and while I’m not “uber” happy with Rogers, it’s better than Bell, I suppose. Read the rest of this entry »
